Sometimes, when I am bored, I go over to Crime Library and look through their recent articles/posts, until something catches my attention. The Exonerated slideshow post (23 people in the list), was one of them for today and I felt like sharing it on my blog. I found it interesting how, so many innocent people are convicted and sentenced to either life, life without parole or death. It’s ridiculous that there are people who are innocent in prison, sitting there going through that lengthy ordeal, and fearing that no one would be able to help them. It’s good that The Innocence Project is out there, helping people but from my readings, sometimes they aren’t able to help people even if it’s possible that they are innocent because of deteriorated DNA samples, or whatever it may be they need to exonerate someone.
Clean Vs. IIFYM
If you didn’t know or realize, I am a weight lifter. I’d love to call myself a bodybuilder, because that’s exactly what I specifically do. I build my body, by weights, cardio and nutrition. I have been doing it off and on since 2003, but really got into it with great consistency, about 1 and a half years ago. I say this because, it’s a learning experience and a lot of the information I got, was more targeted towards guys and made me gain more fat than I would have liked. Anyways, because of my constant research into finding the right information to suit my desired physical goals, I have come across a lot of debates between clean vs. dirty foods. Along with clean vs. other eating protocols, like IIFYM (if it fits your macros). This post of mine isn’t here to describe what if it fits your macros means, but, it’s here to just demonstrate to you a video of Layne Norton, speaking on clean vs. IIFYM. I think it’s an excellent video, and anyone interested in bodybuilding or living a fit lifestyle, should look at it.
As a quick summary, it’s basically talking about how ridiculous clean eating or eating whatever you want is, and that it all comes down to the context of the whole thing. One will gain fat, if they eat a lot of calories despite eating “clean”, but eating a slice of pizza and fitting it into your macros (carbs, proteins and fats), for the day can give you a very impressive physique. It also helps prevent binge eatings, that tend to come with eating clean continuously, until a cheat meal or day comes around.
Rilya Wilson
I remember back in 2000, when the disappearance of Rilya Wilson was announced on the news. I was only 15 around that time, graduating from my high school in 2003 at 18. It was a sad story and hearing that she was in the hands of a foster parent and suddenly had gone missing, my family and I hoped that the caregiver or foster parent wasn’t involved. I remember when she was being questioned and that they would update the news with information, like the dog cage they had and it possibly being a part of Rilya’s punishments throughout her short time at the foster home. Since then, I hadn’t really thought much about it but it was sad that her body wasn’t found and no further information was given to the nation, about the progression of the investigation (at least to my knowledge).
It was only after some years, after being an avid reader of crime library, that I came across an article that spoke about the trial beginning for the accused in the Rilya Wilson disappearance. Obviously at this point, it was believed that Rilya Wilson was murdered by her said foster parent (not the legal one, but another individual in the household). I had honestly assumed when the story broke out, that this person had a foster home and that clearly she was using the child as a meal ticket, obviously only to grow up and realize that that wasn’t the case.
Finally, the trial has come to an end, or at least the first of the trials, where Geralyn Graham, has been tried. There was an initial deadlock of the jury, but eventually Geralyn Graham, the one who is believed to have been involved with the disappearance of Rilya, was found guilty of 2 of the 3 charges given to her; kidnapping and child abuse. The murder count received a deadlock and a retrial will be established for this.
I am just hoping that after the next trial, she is found guilty of first-degree murder, or probably second degree as no body was found, and no evidence to say the child was murdered but nothing says otherwise either, will be given to Geralyn Graham.
