I think the lyrics to this song is just something we may all be able to relate to. If you’ve ever been in a relationship that is, and more than one.

Anyways here it is, listen to it carefully, and read the lyrics along with the video if you want.

The dude’s british, so don’t let his fangs scare ya :P

Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love and it’s an ache I still remember

You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness
Like resignation to the end
Always the end
So when we found that we could not make sense
Well you said that we would still be friends
But I’ll admit that I was glad that it was over

But you didn’t have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened
And that we were nothing
And I don’t even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so rough
You didn’t have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
I guess that I don’t need that though
Now you’re just somebody that I used to know

Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over
But had me believing it was always something that I’d done
And I don’t wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And I wouldn’t catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know…

But you didn’t have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened
And that we were nothing
And I don’t even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so rough
You didn’t have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
I guess that I don’t need that though
Now you’re just somebody that I used to know

I used to know
That I used to know

I am an 80s kid at heart. I love all the old 80s horror movies, all the 80s teen movies with John Cusack and the bunch, such movies like The Breakfast Club, etc. Not only do I love their movies, but I also am absolutely obsessed with their music genre. The only club I have ever loved, was one called Soho Lounge in Downtown Miami. Once it closed down, my heart was broken. I have since been looking for an all 80s club, and I am sure I will find one but what keeps me sane until then, is the current artists who sing songs like from the 80s.

One such group/band is M83, at least in their Midnight City single.

Here it is on You Tube. Not the original video but a live concert with a dubbed audio:

Here is the official music video, just in case you so fancy to see it:
